Pain Management

We say “NO” to pain!

Pets lack the ability to control pain on their own. They can’t simply take a few aspirin or apply an icepack to an area of their body that hurts. As such, they rely on us – their loving owners and health care providers – to recognize and address pain on their behalf.

At Aloha Animal Hospital, we believe that every pet deserves the right to enjoy a pain-free existence. That’s why we’re pleased to offer professional pain management as part of our comprehensive list of services. We want to help your loved one live a happier, more comfortable life.

Our approach to pain management is incredibly thorough, which makes it highly effective. We recognize that many aspects of medical care may cause discomfort to our patients, whether it be an injection or a surgical procedure. To that end, we aim to not simply control pain as it is happening, but to prevent that pain from occurring in the first place. For medical procedures, we utilize pain control medication which has been proven to be both safe and highly effective. This helps us keep our animal friends comfortable and pain-free.

We also understand that there are many other types of pain. For instance, pain that is associated with chronic ailments, post-surgical or injury recovery and, of course, the natural aging process. For this type of discomfort, we use a number of different techniques, based on the situation. Every case is handled on an individual basis, which helps us achieve the best possible results for each patient. These methods may include any of the following, applied either independently or in combination with one another:

  • Medications
  • Supplements
  • Laser Therapy
  • Joint injections/PRP
  • Acupuncture

For more information on these procedures, visit our Regenerative Therapy Services page.

We typically see Dr Jamie who we love but today we saw Dr Gordon. She was wonderful. She was thorough, patient in answering all of our questions. A great caring and kind vet.

We cannot say enough nice things about Aloha Animal Hospital, and would highly recommend them to anyone who has a pet that they love. We would not trust anyone else with my best buddy Mia! From David and Sam at the reception desk, to Dr. Brittany, Dr. Jamie, and Dr. Jason you will be treated as if you are family. We've been loyal patrons of Aloha for over 13 years. The team is professional, kind, and really exemplifies the Ohana Spirit. I could go on and on about how good this team is. The latest example, we called last night to get some information about Mia's symptoms. Sam spent time to discuss what Mia was experiencing, and showed nothing but consideration for our feelings. As we were speaking, Sam took the time to look for the closest available appointment. As we spoke, she noticed a recent cancellation, and we were able to see Dr. Brittany the next day. David is also that kind and caring. Dr. Brittany was great. She took the time to discuss our aging dogs arthritis, and the options we could take to reduce the pain she seemed to be experiencing. This team really dedicates the time that we, as loving pet owners deserve, not to mention our pets. Trust us, if you love your pet(s) as much as we do, place your trust in Aloha!

I had such a wonderful experience at Aloha Animal Hospital. From the moment we walked in, the nurse and the two receptionists, Alex and Kylie, were incredibly polite, friendly, and welcoming. They were also very understanding of my German Shepherd, who can be a bit reactive, and never made us feel uncomfortable or judged. Dr. James was truly amazing with her. I've been to other vets where staff seemed scared of my dog and made it feel like a big issue, which was stressful for both of us. That was absolutely not the case here. Dr. James and the team handled her with such care, patience, and confidence, and were so understanding throughout the entire visit. They made the whole process smooth and easy, which I am beyond grateful for. I left feeling relieved, supported, and thankful to have found a vet who treats both pets and owners with such respect and compassion. I would recommend Aloha Animal Hospital to anyone without hesitation.

I have had all good experiences at Aloha Animal Hospital. It's the only vet I trust with my bunnies. The front desk staff is very friendly, the vet techs are knowledgeable and friendly. I've worked with Dr Beckes, Dr Nieves, and Dr Sullivan, they've all been wonderful! They stay informed on new advancements when it comes to exotic animal care and they understand bunnies. I really appreciate that they examine and treat bunnies on the floor when possible, bunnies do not like to be held and are prone to serious injury if they fall. Even when their office is super busy they've always been able to see my bunnies for emergencies.

They got me in quickly at the end of the day when my tortoise got unexpectedly injured. I was so grateful for them as every other exotics hospital I called in the valley told me they couldn't take him and told me to go to VEG (yeah right...worst vet hospital ever). I dropped him off for an overnight stay where they started treatment for him and kept him in an oxygen box. The staff was very friendly and the prices were fair. tortellini is doing great now!
