Do you know who to call if your pet needs urgent medical attention?
As a devoted pet parent, you never want to see your four-legged family member in any kind of distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents happen, and typically when we least expect it. At Aloha Animal Hospital, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team of experienced professionals in your corner.
Our hospital is equipped to provide same-day urgent care during our regular operating hours. Our highly skilled staff members will quickly diagnose the problem and deliver care that is timely and effective. Most importantly, we’ll handle your companion’s case with the utmost compassion, doing everything possible to achieve a positive outcome.
Some of the signs that your pet may need urgent medical attention include:
- Abscesses
- Coughing
- Ear Infections
- Fever
- Hives/Swelling Reactions
- Limping
- Minor Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Skin Allergies
- Superficial Cuts or Wounds
If you notice any of these signs, contact Aloha Animal Hospital right away. We strongly recommend calling ahead whenever possible. This allows us to evaluate the situation, provide first aid instructions over the phone, and prepare for your pet’s arrival.
While Aloha Animal Hospital is equipped and prepared to handle the above urgent care situations, should your pet experience any of the following signs or symptoms, please seek assistance from a dedicated emergency veterinary clinic immediately:
- Difficulty Breathing
- Dry Heaving or Possible Bloating
- Fall From Height
- Foreign Body Ingestion
- Difficulty Giving Birth
- Traumatic Injury (e.g. struck by a vehicle)
- Repeated Seizures
- Refusal to Eat or Drink for 2+ Days
- Loss of Consciousness
If you are unsure whether your pet’s condition requires urgent care or emergency medical attention, and our clinic is open, please do not hesitate to contact us and someone from our team can advise you. We can also recommend an emergency care facility if need be.
Also, please note that walk-in urgent care visits are not intended to be a replacement for routine veterinary care. You should continue to schedule regular checkups at least once a year and stay up to date with your companion’s ongoing wellness care. Urgent care visits should be used only when your pet becomes injured or sick and cannot wait for a future appointment but must be seen as soon as possible.
We sincerely hope your loved one never experiences the need for urgent medical attention. If they do, however, we want you to know who to call. The caring crew at Aloha Animal Hospital will be here to provide the highest level of service available.
