6 Things That Annoy Cats

April 1, 2019

Just like people, cats are all unique. Some are friendly, some are timid, and some are actually quite opinionated. However, even though our feline buddies all have their own unique likes and dislikes, they do share a few common opinions. Read on as a local Las Vegas, NV vet lists some things that annoy cats.

Loud Noises

It probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to learn that cats generally prefers their kingdoms to be fairly quiet and peaceful. After all, napping is Fluffy’s favorite pastime. If you drop something around your cat, or just make a racket going through pots and pans, she will probably bolt for her favorite hiding spot.

Attention Done Wrong

Cats make great cuddle buddies. They’re soft, cute, furry, and lovable, and they can even vibrate with happiness. That said, there are some definite rules when it comes to petting Fluffy. Your furry overlord will decide when it’s time to snuggle, and for how long. Too much attention, too little attention, and/or the wrong kind of attention are all serious offenses in the kitty rulebook.

Baths

There are a few exceptions to this one. Some of our feline patients actually like water. However, the vast majority of them absolutely despise getting wet.

Being Moved Mid-Nap

Kitties are very talented at napping, and can somehow manage to fall asleep in contortions most of us associate with knots and pretzels. In fact, Fluffy can spend up to 20 hours a day snoozing! But, no matter how much time your drowsy little pet spends catching z’s, she won’t be very happy if you disturb her beauty rest.

Dogs

Dogs and cats have had a bit of a rocky relationship, though they can be best buds. Fido sometimes wants to play while Fluffy just wants to sleep. He also has been known to steal his feline pal’s food, sit on her, eat her toys, and even chase her.

Car Rides

Fluffy and Fido couldn’t disagree more on this one. While dogs think car rides are the best thing ever, aside from bacon and belly rubs, cats are generally much less enthusiastic about them. To our feline friends, however, a car is a scary, evil machine that’s trying to eat them.
