Advanced Imaging & Diagnostics
Slide Background

Could your pet be battling an unseen illness or injury?

When people get sick or hurt, they go to the doctor, describe their symptoms and receive the appropriate care. With pets, it’s not always as straightforward. Because animals can’t talk, they can’t tell us when something is bothering them.

What’s more, many animals are able to conceal the signs of illness, allowing it to develop and worsen undetected.

Veterinary diagnostics enable us to identify and treat health concerns in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of illness and injury can greatly improve the chances of a positive outcome.

Advanced Imaging

When a physical exam isn’t enough to reach a diagnosis, we turn to advanced imaging technology. These tools allow us to evaluate the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity. Diagnostic images can be analyzed by our doctors in real-time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.

Abdominal Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging technology provides the doctors at Aloha Animal Hospital with a non-invasive way to examine the inside of your pet’s body and diagnose potential health concerns that cannot be detected on the surface of the skin. It is a safe and painless procedure that produces highly accurate images, enabling us to better evaluate how your companion’s body is functioning.

Some of the many conditions that ultrasound imaging can be used to assess and diagnose include:

  • Heart disease
  • Tumors
  • Bladder and/or kidney stones
  • Diseases of the organs (liver, kidney, gallbladder, etc.)
  • Gastrointestinal concerns

Aloha Animal Hospital is pleased to offer ultrasound imaging as part of our comprehensive diagnostic services.

Echocardiogram

At Aloha Animal Hospital, we’re excited to provide advanced echocardiogram services. We offer a range of cardiac diagnostic tools such as echocardiograms, blood pressure assessments, cardio proBNP testing, and chest X-rays.

Our dedicated team of experienced veterinarians collaborates with board-certified cardiologists to review our diagnostics and provide personalized recommendations to ensure your pet receives the highest standard of cardiac care. Whether you’re proactively monitoring your pet’s heart health or addressing a specific concern, our echocardiogram service provides invaluable insights for a tailored treatment plan.

Digital Radiographs

Digital radiography, or digital X-ray for short, is an imaging technology that allows us to examine your pet’s organs and internal systems. This includes the heart and lungs, the muscular-skeletal system, the gastrointestinal system, and the reproductive and urinary systems.

Digital X-rays are non-invasive, painless, and provide our team with high quality images that are available for immediate evaluation. This allows for a faster diagnosis and more efficient treatment plan. If necessary, digital X-ray images can be shared electronically with specialists for further evaluation.

Digital radiology is routinely used to identify and diagnose the following:

  • Bone and joint injuries or abnormalities
  • Foreign objects inside the body
  • Abnormalities of the heart, lungs, urinary, and digestive systems
  • Screening for some types of cancer

Laboratory

Aloha Animal Hospital’s on-site diagnostic laboratory makes it fast and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many instances, we can have results in just minutes. This means we can have a treatment plan in place before you and your pet even leave the exam room.

If your animal friend has been acting a bit out of sorts lately, don’t take chances. Give the experienced professionals at Aloha Animal Hospital a call right away. We’ll get to the bottom of the problem and get your pet back on the path to good health again.
