11 Things Cats Are Actually Thankful For

November 15, 2019

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We are definitely looking forward to that mouthwatering food! However, it’s important to remember the main reason for the holiday: gratitude. Cats are something we are grateful for. But what do you think your furry friend would express thanks about? A Las Vegas, NV vet lists some options in this article.

Beds

Kitties spend the majority of their time sleeping, napping, snoozing, or dozing. Comfy beds would probably be at the top of Fluffy’s list.

Food

We can’t blame Fluffy for being thankful for food. We’re pretty fond of it ourselves! Offer your cute pet a special treat on Thanksgiving. Plain, cooked, boneless turkey is a good bet.

Sunbeams

Does your kitty like to sprawl out in the sun, especially on cool days? Fluffy doesn’t actually run on solar power, but we really don’t know if she ever got that memo or not.

Boxes

Our quirky feline friends are full of charming quirks. However, Fluffy’s box obsession is one trait that will never stop being adorable.

Clean Litterboxes

Fluffy likes her powder room nice and clean, and who can blame her? We don’t like dirty bathrooms, either!

Catnip

Did you know that cats have olfactory receptors that perfectly match catnip scent molecules? Fluffy’s never cuter than when she’s under the effects of her favorite plant, which is fortunately completely safe for her.

Toys

Kitties are predators in the wild, so pouncing and jumping are natural behaviors to them. Make sure your feline pal has plenty of playthings to push under the couch.

Laps

Cats just happen to be the purrfect size to curl up on our laps. We suspect they are secretly appreciative of that fact.

Veterinary Care

We know, most of our feline patients would scratch this right off the list if they could. Fluffy may hate car rides, but that trip to the clinic is definitely in her best interests!

You!

It’s easy to joke about cats being nonchalant, but in actuality, kitties are very emotional. Fluffy gets extremely attached to her humans! Of course, your pet will show her love in some rather unusual ways, such as purring, following you around, and trying to sleep on your head. But that’s another topic.

Please contact us, your Las Vegas, NV vet clinic, for all of your cat’s veterinary care needs. We are here to help!
