Holiday Gifts for Pets

December 15, 2017

Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Don’t forget to pick up something for your pet! Our furred-and feathered-friends are definitely part of the family! Read on as a Las Vegas, NV vet lists some great holiday gift ideas for pets.

Dogs

Treats and toys are classic gifts for dogs, and will make wonderful presents for your canine companion. You can also get your pup a comfy new doggy bed; an automated ball launcher; or a mechanical laser pointer. Smaller breeds and senior dogs may also appreciate pet ramps or stairs. If you want to go all out, get Fido a doghouse, or make him a puppy playzone in the yard. You can also pamper your pooch by getting him a subscription box for dogs, or treating him to a massage.

Cats

It isn’t hard to brighten up your kitty’s day. Fill your cat’s stocking with fun toys and safe, suitable treats. Your feline friend may also appreciate a new bed, or some cat furniture, like a cat tower or pet tent. If you want to try something new, get your kitty some catnip bubbles, a robotic mouse, or an automated laser pointer. Some other gift options for cats are small pots of catnip or cat grass; window seats; or wall-mounted furniture. Fluffy may also enjoy playing in empty boxes, so give her some of the empty ones after everyone has finished opening their gifts.

Smaller Pets

If you have an exotic pet, a reptile, or a smaller animal, such as a Guinea pig, hamster, or bunny, consider getting your animal companion a bigger, better habitat. A new hidey-hole is another good option. Treats and toys are also great gifts for pocket pets, exotics, and reptiles. These animals all have their own unique diet and entertainment needs, so ask your vet for specific advice.

Birds

A new cage would make a great gift for your pet bird! Your feathered friend may also enjoy new perches or toys. Like any other pet, birds also love special snacks, so feel free to offer your bird a yummy treat. Just be sure to only give your pet safe, suitable foods. Ask your vet for specific nutritional recommendations.

All of us at Aloha Animal Hospital want to wish you a safe and happy holiday season. Please feel free to contact us, your Las Vegas, NV animal clinic, anytime.
