Veterinary Technician

From the age of 13 until she was 16 years old, Andrea lived on a dairy farm that her parents had bought in Oregon. It was there that she fell in love with animals—eventually, she moved to Las Vegas and secured her first job as a kennel assistant. Andrea hasn’t looked back since, and is now a Licensed Veterinary Technician!

It didn’t take long for Andrea to get promoted to a Veterinary Assistant position at her first animal-care job, but she knew that she still wanted more. She continued to work full-time while attending school to receive her Associate of Applied Science degree in veterinary technology. Shortly afterward, Andrea received her license to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She joined the Aloha Animal Hospital family in May of 2015, and now has a total of seven years of experience in general practice and specialty surgery under her belt.

In her time away from work, Andrea likes cooking, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband Danny have two young boys, Thomas and Gabriel, and share their home with two loveable dogs. Bam Bam is a Chihuahua/pug mix that the family has had since he was a puppy; Chihuahua/Papillion mix Trixie was adopted from a shelter six years ago and became instant friends with Bam Bam.

Ann grew up in rural New England, where she spent plenty of time exploring the forests, fields, and ponds of the area. These experiences, combined with her adoration of the family pets, made one thing clear: Ann wanted to do everything she could to help the earth’s creatures! For her, a career in veterinary medicine simply makes sense.

After earning her college degree in science, Ann went to work as a Veterinary Technician for a friend who had opened her very own animal hospital in Connecticut. Ann cared for pets there for several years before moving to Europe, where she continued to gain experience in the veterinary world. Next, she returned to the United States and settled in the Las Vegas area, joining the clinic family in the fall of 2016 on the recommendation of a friend, Aloha Animal Hospital’s very own Julie.

Ann lives with two rescued dogs at home: a poodle named Roxy, who loves exploring during her long walks; and Little Una May, a Maltipoo, who loves to cuddle up next to Ann while she’s reading. When she isn’t enjoying her own companions’ company or tending to the area’s pets here at the hospital, Ann likes writing—she was even asked to read her own published short story on NPR!—and organizing donation drives for local animal shelters in order to give back to the community’s needy pets.

Cindy has always enjoyed working directly with the public, and she’s been a pet owner for nearly all of her life. Why not combine the two, she thought, by working in the field of veterinary medicine? Now, Cindy gets to serve pet owners and their animal companions alike—she’s one of the hospital’s Client Care Specialists.

Cindy was born on a naval base in Port Hueneme, California, but spent most of her childhood in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. She returned to California during her high school years, and that’s where her veterinary career began. She remained at the practice for the next seven years before moving to Las Vegas.

Cindy joined the Aloha Animal Hospital team in November of 2014. She has a special passion for educating pet owners on their companions’ healthcare, and loves imparting her knowledge about vaccination, spaying and neutering, nutrition, and senior pet care.

Cindy and her husband have two children, Christopher and Ashley, as well as a wonderful grandson named Ethan. The couple shares their home with Gidget, an elderly chocolate Labrador; a longhaired cat named Holly; Vinnie the shorthaired cat; and MJ the green-cheeked conure.

David is no stranger to caring for animals since he grew up on a farm in his home state of Oklahoma. David and his wife, Charlene, have two wonderful daughters: Marissa is an aspiring actress, and young Olivia is already writing fantastic stories. The family shares their home with Tyson, a pug who constantly wants to be next to David, as well as Trixie the lazy Chihuahua.

Outside of his interests in the animal-care world, David is a fan of mathematics and has a special passion for teaching the subject to others.
